OSCAR MELLING is a self-taught artist whose cartoon realism style has developed over many years of filled notebooks. His primary medium is graphite but he has experimented with many others as well including watercolor, colored pencils, and gouache.
Sci-fi and Fantasy have been a life-long favorite genre of his and he is just as ready to plunge into the farthest reaches of space as he is to frolic with a unicorn on a meadow planet in spring bloom.
He currently lives with his family in western Wisconsin on a five-acre plot with a small population of egg-laying flightless birds.
